Pink People
Spring 2026
In the series Pink People, Kay Lima explores pareidolia through a developed process. Each work begins with spontaneous gestures in clear gel that are gradually layered with foundational marks in pink, then shapes and colors until human figures and distinct personalities emerge.
Many of the Pink People wear disquieting expressions. Are they searching, saddened, astonished? This invites open-ended interpretation and an emotional connection with the viewer.
Across the series, a provoking through-line persists: each subject is remembering who they are while simultaneously unravelling.
